Why are people willing to stand in line for days and pay hundreds of dollars for an iPhone? Why do we spend three times the money to buy a trinket in a foreign country that we would never buy at home? What elements of emotional design will you incorporate in your next project?
Xinru Page will lead a discussion on Emotional Design covering:
Xinru has spent the last four years leading interaction design at NextPage Inc. Prior to that, she researched haptic interfaces for GPS as a joint effort between Toyota and Stanford University. She also spent a brief time in Microsoft's Mac Office group as a Program Manager for Mac Internet Explorer. Xinru holds a master's degree and bachelor's degree in computer science with concentration in HCI from Stanford University.
